Party: SUP Club – Midsummer Night's Dream

It's the midsummer solstice today, so we're going to take full advantage of the excess daylight (and heat!) to run a late evening session from Chalkwell rigging green (www.supsect.com/chalkwell-beach nearest postcode, SS0 8JJ). It's an 11pm high tide so we're looking to meet about 7.30pm and not aiming to launch until 8 (there will be some water before that, but not much...) Certainly to begin with we won't be going anywhere, so no staggered launching for a change: just come when you can and launch when you like really! By 9pm there will be plenty enough water so we may manage a short trip east and back if conditions allow, or not if they don't. We'll just play it by ear – truth be told it's not a forecast we'd usually take SUP Club to Chalkwell for! It's already windier than advertised with a big sea breeze on the cards, which could throw up some fun Chalkwell chop. But then as the day's energy dissipates and the wind veers southerly it could drop right off for a totally chilled-out night. Truth be told we really can't say for sure – but that water's certainly going to be warm, and conditions can only get so difficult (we've had fun there at its very worst!) so it's definitely a night for all-comers; everyone's super-welcome as long as no-one minds getting wet! And afterwards, we're planning to stay down the beach for a change: BRING YOUR OWN BOOZE & BBQ FOOD as the one and only Bavros Frostidopoulos will be firing up the Chalkwell Grill so we can make like teenagers for a night... (If conditions do settle right down we might even get a chance of a night paddle later, but we won't count on it!)
