A special and intimate opportunity to hear the stories behind the songs of four great Australian songwriters.
Dave Mason Iconic front man of The Reels and writer of pop classics like Love Will Find a Way, Prefab Hearts, After The News and Shout And Deliver and of course instant classic Quasimodo's Dream which was listed by APRA at No. 10 of their Top 30 songs of all time in 2001. After a lifetime of collaboration, which inevitably involves compromise, Dave is developing multi-media performances of new songs and reinterpretations of his existing repertoire.
Abby Dobson Founding member of Leonardo's Bride whose song, Even When Im Sleeping, won APRA song of the year and was later voted as one of the Top 20 Australian Songs of All Time. Abby has been invited to sing with Neil Finn, Daniel Johns, Leo Sayer, Paul Mac, Katie Noonan and more. Apart from her acclaimed solo work and songwriting commissions, she also sings in French with Lara Goodridge and their fabulous frenchy band, Baby et Lulu.
Emma Swift With a tear in her voice filtered through ’70s mariachi static, Emma Swift’s music hearkens back to the golden age of music when singers sang your life back to you. One of Australia’s finest sad-song-singers, Emma likes minor chords, heart-worn highways, scuffed-up boots, gin and endless pedal steel. Her debut mini-album was recorded in Nashville, TN and is out now via Laughing Outlaw Records.
Brendan Gallagher Best known as Karma County front man and writer of evergreens like Postcard, Secret Country, The Lifesaver's Love Song and more. In recent years he has released three solo albums of his own songs, including radio faves The Good Baker's Dream and Tonight On The Great Verandah, and collaborations with Dead Marines, THE MILLIONAIRE$ and B!G, all with him in the producer's chair.
