Performances: Saturday 30th September & Sunday 1st October 2017 @ Playhouse Theatre Harlow

Audition: Saturday 21st January 12.30pm registration @Passmores Academy Harlow

Rehearsals: Sundays (most Sundays for main adult team, some Sundays for all others) and occasional Monday or Tuesday evenings between 26th Feb and 1st Oct.

What is the show about / what styles of dance?

Every 2 years Hip Hop Pop produce an original piece of street dance theatre, 2015 saw our most successful show yet 'The Evolution of Hip Hop Pop Dance", get a 5* rating and review in etc Harlow star including the comments: "Evolution has not just cemented Hip Hop Pop as the best dance school in the area, but arguably is now one of the best in the country. This year Hip Hop Pop will produce 'HIP HOP POP - The Next Chapter' featuring all the main street dance styles including Hip Hop, Breaking, Locking, Popping, Krump and the controversial one; lyrical Hip Hop and many more styles all within chapter themes such as '80's', 'classical', 'films', 'breakdowns', 'FX' and many many more chapters..

What cast are we looking for?

25 x Age 16+ principal dancers - strong skilled street dancers
and also...
15 x Age 16+ chorus street dancers
20 x Age 11 - 15 chorus street dancers
15 the 11-15 supporting chorus street dancers
30 Age 6 - 10 supporting chorus street dancers

Principals - Will lead the production, will perform in the majority of the show and will be expected to attend most Sunday rehearsals between end of Feb and Oct along with the odd Tuesday evening and perhaps Monday evening class.

Chorus - Will perform in between 4 and 8 numbers in the show and will be expected to attend half of the Sundays between end of Feb and Oct and the odd Tuesday evening
​
Supporting Chorus - Will perform in between 3 and 4 numbers in the show and will support and dance with the chorus team on some numbers, supporting chorus will be expected to attend approx 8 rehearsals raining Sundays between end of Feb and Oct.

How to audition?

We will hold an OPEN (meaning open to EVERYONE, current students at Hip Hop Pop and outside talent too) AUDITION, Saturday 21st January 2017 between 12.30pm and 3pm at the Passmores Academy on Traceys Road in Harlow.

between 30 mins and 1.5 hours

Wear
Anything comfortable what makes you feel 'cool'

Bring
Bottle of water and a parent if you are under 16

What to prepare
Nothing, you will be taught a short routine on the day which you will need to learn and perform in small groups

Other opportunities
Principal cast - we are always on the hunt for new members to join our pro team who perform for various shows and events, through out the rehearsal process we will be looking for potential new members.

Other information
If successful, there will be a small show fee to take part which will include the cost of a DVD of the final performance, a show t-shirt and rehearsal fees (previous shows this has been a separate cost, to make it easier it' included this year). We take pride at Hip Hop Pop in offering some of the lowest show fees in the area in comparison to other performing arts groups. Producing shows is extremely expensive so therefore we have charge a fee to make producing the show affordable and of course also for the authentic training and expreteese all participants receive. Tickets for the show will be available to purchase form April 2017. Costumes will be the responsibility of the cast member to source, however we always keep the specification easy so that it can be accomplished easily and cheaply. Show fees are currently set at £99 for principal cast (£89 for current members), £69 for chorus cast (£59 for current members), and £39 for supporting chorus (£29 for current members). Once again this includes a DVD and t-shirt for every cast member and can be paid in instalments, more info to come once successful auditionees notified.
