Party: Electric Jam Xmas Special!
Main page > Bassment > Electric Jam Xmas Special!
The Electric Jam signs off for 2016 with its traditional Xmas Party show, which has become one of the highlights of the Season in the past few years.
Joining Paolo on the Bill to help get the Party started are great friends Morrissey & Marshall who created such a buzz last time they played at the Bassment - and back by popular demand, the awesome BLACK CHAPEL who will feature not 1, nor 2, but 5 great female vocalists in a unique new performance set
This will be one very special show - and not to be missed!
Paolo Morena
The end of another highly successful year for the Live Looping wizard which has seen him continue his hectic schedule of Gigs around the country. That has included a Radio Tour at the start of the year to support the release of the single "Its Only Love" and a current Tour to support the new Single, "All The Wires Lead To Flesh" 2016 also saw the Digital release of "TheMightySmall" album. Meantime the Live Looping show itself continues to attract rave reviews including a first National review of the show in Classic Rock magazine. Paolo is currently writing material for the new album "38" to be released in 2017, and plans are in place to take the live show abroad for the first time next year.
Morrissey & Marshall
Darren and Greg performed at the Electric Jam earlier in the year and crated such a big impression that we had to invite them back for the end of year party!
When Greg Marshall decided to climb, uninvited, upon the stage already occupied by Darren Morrissey, and his (former) band to accompany him, the ensuing combination of two vocals created the magical moment....namely the birth of "Morrissey and Marshall". They have been writing and performing together ever since.
Hailing from Dublin, the pair were already no strangers to the world of music, but it was when they teamed up as front men for a previous 'Rock n Roll' band, that people really started to sit up and take notice. Playing to sell out crowds and scoring an Irish chart hit single.
In 2011 and, by now, consummate composers with a considerable arsenal of songs, the pair left their hometown and established themselves in London as a duo. The irresistible harmonies drew comparisons with The Everly Brothers and Simon and Garfunkel with an Irish twist.
They release a new single "Love & Be Loved" next month (11/11) a taster for the brand new album scheduled for early 2017.
Come and hear tracks from that at The Electric Jam.
Black Chapel
We are delighted once again to have the amazing Black Chapel on the Bill for the Xmas Jam.
Over the past couple of years, Steve Mortimer - producer/remixer extraordinaire - has gained a fully justified reputation for putting on some of the most beautiful and exciting electronic /ambient sets, mixing beats, vocals and spoken word to create a wonderful sonic landscape. This years Black Chapel performance will expand to 5 wonderful vocalists within a piece of performance art that is not to be missed.
After the live show, Bassment residents take you on a journey through indie, funk, soul, disco, hip hop, reggae, rock and alternative beats 'til 4am!
