Party: Bunya Mountains Getaway - QLD

Feel like a break after the busy festive season?

Why not take a little time out for yourself and join in one of our small group tours. This time we're heading off to the beautiful Bunya Mountains National Park where we'll enjoy the serenity of the area, coupled with scenic walks, relaxation, great food, lots of laughs and new found friends.


Day 1

We leave Brisbane at 8 am to begin our drive to the beautiful Bunya Mountains National Park, 3 hours North West of Brisbane. On route we pass the townships of Wamuran and Woodford before stopping at Kilcoy for morning tea.

Continuing on, we travel through Blackbutt and Yarraman before beginning our ascent at Maidenwell. Notice the drop in temperature as we climb. Arriving for lunch at the Bunya Mountains we will settle into our accommodation (a comfortable, spacious 2 storey chalet, overlooking National Park rainforest.)

In the afternoon we will take a leisurely stroll around the 4km Scenic Walk. This is an easy walk, which gets us home with plenty of time to relax and breathe in the serenity before dinner.



Day 2

After breakfast today we will pack a picnic lunch, fill up the water bottles and grab a camera. We have all morning to complete the Barker Creek Circuit (10kms) which takes us past waterfalls, spectacular views and the world’s largest forest of bunya pines.

In the afternoon, relax, feed the birds from the balcony and watch the sun go down over the Bunya Trees or have a hit of tennis, take a horse and cart ride or visit the local art gallery.



Day 3

Enjoy a slow start to your Sunday morning absorbing the peace and tranquillity. Wander around the country markets which will set up right at our doorstep and try some local Bunya nut delicacies before we regroup for our trip home. We will stop for a final picnic lunch before arriving back in Brisbane at approx. 2-3 p.m.
