Party: Have Your Say: Build Your SU

For the past six years, the Students’ Union has been located on Elmer Approach. With the continuing demand for space, and the ongoing growth and expansion of the University, it has been requested that the SU vacates the space to ensure that this demand is met.

Following the difficult decision in May 2013 to close the bar, we believe that the space has become redundant and is not fit for purpose in its current capacity as a social space.

Due to the decline in the number of students using the area, we have agreed to the University’s request to vacate the space this summer. However, this is on the promise that we will be provided with a suitable alternative space that you, our members, can use.

This is where the power is in your hands and we invite you to come to the focus group that is taking place in the University Square Common Room on April 23rd at 7pm where you can have your say and ask any questions you may have.

The current Union space will go down in folklore, from the classic £1.50 pizzas to TGIF nights, but it is time to move on, and you can direct us.
