Finding it hard to hear conversations? Then it might be time to get your hearing checked! Visit the Australian Hearing bus for a free hearing check on Wednesday 4th October 2017. The team will be at Swansea RSL from 9:00am – 2:00pm.
Australian Hearing is a government authority, we have a community service obligation to promote hearing health to the wider community.
We talk to the community about;
· protecting their hearing,
· babies and children’s hearing,
· hearing and age,
· assistive listening devices,
· new technology hearing aids and
· the Australian Government Hearing Services Program.
· Hearing aid clean and chat service.
This year the bus program is expanded to assist people with hearing aids to have the aids cleaned and checked for free. We now assess the aids for damage, ear wax cleaning and battery function. This helps the community to hear better and thus helps prevent accidents and injury to vulnerable and elderly people. This programme development has occurred due to an identified need from an aging population.
The Australian Hearing Bus can test people’s hearing and give a personalised service to those who volunteer for a test. Our screening services are totally free to all.
Australian Hearing recommends that all people over the age of 65 get their hearing checked every year to optimise hearing health. The National Acoustics Laboratory has researched hearing health since 1947 and has proven that good hearing helps;
· Communication
· Safety
· Relationships
· Balance
· Mental health
· Longevity
