We are teaching a two-week mini-series on aerials, starting this Thursday June 18th at 8pm! (The second lesson is on June 25th.)
Things you need to know:
0) Prerequisites: Swing 4 or instructor permission. If in doubt, just give me a call at (250) 885-4639.
1) You must register with a partner to ensure that everybody in the class has at least one person to work with. While we won't be doing rotations, you're more than welcome to switch partners in the class itself, but like a potluck, you have to show up with at least something to offer! If you need a partner, just go ahead and post in this event that you're looking. :)
2) Clothing recommendations: flat-soled shoes, minimal bling (belts fall in this category), dance shorts if you're sporting a skirt, and a top with sleeves can be helpful too. Essentially, minimize things you or your partner can get caught in or attacked by!)
3) We will follow up the series with an Assisted Practice on Thursday July 2nd at 8pm. We'll provide a great practice space for you: there will be music playing for an hour and a half, teachers on hand you can enlist to help you with whatever you need, and all the perks of the excellent studios at Dance Victoria (AC, parking, mirrors, lots of room, etc). All that for just $5. It's a ridiculously good deal.
4) For that matter, we've got an Assisted Practice tonight (June 14th) at 8pm. :D
5) We will follow all this up with a Showtime series on jam circles from Sunday July 5th to July 26th. It is intended to dovetail with the Aerials series with complementary content, but the two series can be taken independently. You'll need a partner for the Showtime class as well.
