art.haus returns on Friday April 18th for what will be a very special “2nd Birthday Edition” at Tabu Nightclub in Juffair.

“It’s hard to believe that we started this journey some time ago in the Music Hall next to JJ’s, as we only planned to throw these parties for a few months. I’m surprised that two years down the line, and against all the odds, we’re still here!”

In celebration of our second birthday, art.haus is proud to welcome special guest and Sandance (Dubai) resident, Marko Smokingroove! Spinning alongside Marko will be art.haus head honcho Sami Dee (UK), and local DJ/Producer Ed Buzzerk (BH).

The last sixteen years has seen Smokingroove come from their humble beginnings on London's pirate radio scene, to being an iconic mainstay on Dubai's nightlife schedule. Over the last five years Marko Smokingroove (MSG) held one of the most in demand residencies in Dubai at Nasimi Beach. In turn, this led to him becoming the resident DJ for the mass popular Sandance festivals, and regularly playing to crowds of 18,000+. Marko is no stranger to playing, and holding his own, alongside some of the world’s greatest DJ's. Over the years he’s shared the decks with artists such as Roger Sanchez, Basement Jaxx, Armand Van Helden, Derrick Carter, DJ Sneak, Yousef, Faithless, John Digweed, Josh Wink, Fatboy Slim, James Zabiela… and the list goes on.

As a duo, Marko and Monsafe are well known for their infectious Deep, Jackin’, Boompty, Chicago influenced brand of House. In recent years they have caught the attention of some the biggest players in the game, signing tracks to:
Roger Sanchez's – Stealth Records, DJ Sneak's – Magnetic Records, Mark Farina's – Great Lakes Audio, Chuck Love's – Love Network and EMI Japan.

Sami Dee started DJing in his hometown of Morecambe (UK) during the early 1990s, and has been spinning at underground House Music parties for over two decades.

During this period Dee has played alongside the likes of Rob Mello, Matt Tolfrey, John Talabot and Marc Romboy. Dropping sets around the UK, Europe and beyond. From the Ministry of Sound (London) and Mono_Cult (Leeds) to Elvis (Thessaloniki) and Coral Beach (Manama).

Bahraini Techno, House and Electronica DJ/Producer, Ahmed Zainal (A.K.A. Ed Buzzerk), has been delving in the underbelly of the Bahraini electronic music scene for 15 years – only recently stepping out of the cave. A string of impressive sets at our parties have turned Ed Buzzerk into a firm art.haus favourite.

His releases include the “Groove As I Groove EP,” and various remixes on Next Dimension Music, an Arizona based label, and the sub label to Next Dimension Music (SURGE).
